Nevada Men’s Basketball Welcomes Three New Players in Just 24 Hours

Nevada Sports Net Morning Download: Key Headlines Recap

On weekday mornings, Nevada Sports Net presents the Morning Download, summarizing the biggest sports headlines from the Silver State. Today’s top stories include significant developments in Nevada men’s basketball, softball, and golf.

Men’s Basketball Welcomes New Faces

In a whirlwind recruitment, the Nevada men’s basketball team secured three new players over the weekend, including two Division I transfers and a promising high school recruit. The transfers, Joel Armotrading from UC Riverside and Corey Camper Jr. from UTEP, bring valuable experience, combining for over 16 points and 10 rebounds per game last season. Both players can extend their college careers after a recent NCAA rule change sparked by Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia’s challenge. Joining them is Myles Walker, a standout point guard from Southern California’s Roosevelt High School, who averaged 12.4 points and nearly seven assists in his senior year. With these additions, the Wolf Pack is nearing completion of its 2025-26 roster.

Softball on the Brink of Title

The Nevada softball team is poised to clinch a share of the Mountain West title after sweeping New Mexico in a recent series. With victories of 11-8, 7-4, and 9-1, and a total of nine home runs, they improved to 37-12 overall and 15-4 in conference play. One win against Colorado State this week would secure at least a share of the title, with two wins guaranteeing an outright championship.

Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth

In golf, the Nevada men’s team wrapped up its season with an eighth-place finish at the Mountain West Championships, scoring an aggregate 856. Top performer Supakit Seelanagae placed 16th with a 6-under par. San Diego State dominated the tournament, finishing at an impressive 54 under.
