Running Nevada House members’ offices costs over $6.5 million last year.

In 2024, running the offices of Nevada’s four U.S. representatives cost taxpayers over $6.5 million according to a report of expenditures. The report revealed that U.S. Sen. Mark Amodei had the lowest reported overhead at $1.35 million, while Rep. Dina Titus had the highest at $1.76 million. The expenses included staff compensation, travel, supplies, rent, communication, utilities, and more. The allowances given to each representative vary based on factors like distance from Washington, D.C., the number of non-business addresses in the district, and local rent costs.

The average allowance for running a congressional office was $1.92 million last year as per the Congressional Research Service. Additionally, it cost more than $4 million for Nevada’s U.S. Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen to run their offices. The breakdown of expenses for each representative’s office highlights how taxpayer dollars are being utilized.
