Reno High’s Luke Hobson helped lead the University of Texas to its first national title in men’s swimming and diving since 2021, winning his sixth NCAA title along the way. The Nevada native and Lakeridge Swim Club product finished his college career as an 18-time All-American and added another accolade as the 13th Northern Nevada high school alum to win an NCAA team title. Nevada baseball also made headlines by sweeping Washington State and moving into a tie for first place in the Mountain West standings. The Wolf Pack hit 11 home runs over the series and received stellar pitching performances to improve to 17-10 overall. However, the Nevada women’s tennis team saw their 13-match win streak come to an end with a loss to Boise State. The team now sits in second place in the conference behind San Jose State and UNLV. In other Wolf Pack sports news, Nevada softball is in a three-way tie for second place in the MW, while Nevada men’s golf finished 25th out of 30 teams at The Goodwin tournament.
