The Nevada men’s basketball team has acquired a commitment from Vaughn Weems, a talented 6’5″ wing player who previously played for North Idaho College. Weems, known for his impressive statistics including averaging 26.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 assists per game, chose Nevada over New Mexico State, Ball State, and Green Bay. He shot 53.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from three-point range in the 2024-25 season, making 78.4 percent of his free throws. Weems had a standout 39-point game against Lake Region State College. Despite not receiving any Division I scholarship offers as a prep senior at Federal Way in Washington, Weems has proven himself to be a valuable addition to the Wolf Pack. He will join Fresno State transfer Elijah Price as the team’s second offseason addition. The addition of Weems adds depth and talent to the Nevada roster, and fans can expect his scoring ability and defensive prowess to make a significant impact on the team’s upcoming season.
