Derby, a comedy troupe at Penn State open to female and non-binary students, held its final free comedy show in the Bellisario Atrium with a music-themed performance. Members dressed as their favorite artists or genres and showcased music-centered skits and stand-up routines. Dani Alleva, a member, described the show as a fun challenge that taught valuable skills like time management and communication.
The show included various skits, such as auditions for a band and a “Real Housewives” spoof set in ancient Greece. Audience participation was a key element, with members engaging spectators in games like a “freeze frame” activity. The night ended with a touching senior tribute and a performance of “My Way” accompanied by pantomimed murder scenes.
Isa Garcia, the president of Derby, expressed her support for the troupe and praised their collaborative efforts.
