GridStor, a developer and operator of utility-scale battery energy storage systems, has named Daniel Dedrick as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With over 20 years of experience in power system engineering and technology development, Dedrick previously served as GridStor’s Senior Vice President of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Technical Operations. In his new role, Dedrick will lead the company’s technology strategy to align with business goals and oversee technical operations for their battery energy storage systems portfolio.

CEO Chris Taylor praised Dedrick as one of the best technical strategists in the energy storage industry, emphasizing the importance of his role in converting the company’s growing project pipeline into competitive operating assets. Dedrick expressed his enthusiasm for taking GridStor’s technical work to the next level as the company transitions into building and operating battery storage facilities in multiple regions.

Prior to joining GridStor, Dedrick led the EPC services and major equipment team at Clearway Energy Group, overseeing the development of over 3 GWh of energy storage facilities and 2 GW of solar power projects. With a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, Dedrick brings a wealth of experience to his new role as CTO.

GridStor’s promotion of Dedrick reflects the company’s commitment to driving growth and delivering timely, cost-effective battery storage facilities to their customers.
