Local singer Jakki Ford will share the stage with the Mile High Jazz Band for an evening of big-band music titled “April in Carson” at Gina’s Good Life Music & Lounge on Tuesday. The event will take place from 7-9 p.m. and is free to attend, with a suggested donation of $10. The 17-member band will play a mix of classic favorites and new swinging selections, including well-known tunes like “April in Paris” and “Here’s That Rainy Day.” Ford will showcase her vocal talents with songs like “Blues in the Night” and “Give Me the Simple Life” accompanied by the band. The performance is made possible in part by a grant from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as memberships and donations.
