Nevada women’s basketball completed its 2024-25 season with a record of 11-21, finishing ninth out of 11 teams in the Mountain West conference. Player of the year Lexie Givens had a standout season, but the team struggled in Quad 1-3 games, going 0-10 against top opponents.
The team’s best win came against Fresno State, but they were unable to capitalize on that victory and ended the season on a six-game losing streak. Injuries and roster challenges also impacted the team, with key players missing games throughout the season. Head coach Amanda Levens faced disappointment as the team fell short of expectations.
The season was marked by a tough schedule, including games against Power 4 schools where Nevada suffered losses by substantial margins. They also struggled with accuracy from three-point range and faced multiple close-game losses. These factors contributed to the team’s disappointing results, including a low finish in the conference and a D grade for the season.
Despite challenges, the team’s experience and continuity were expected to lead to better outcomes, making this season the most disappointing under Coach Levens’ tenure. Moving forward, Nevada will need to regroup and address areas of weakness to improve in the upcoming seasons.
