Nevada Softball split games on Saturday at the DeMarini Classic in Stanford, defeating California Baptist 7-4 but falling to #18 Stanford 4-1. In the first game, California Baptist took an early 2-0 lead, but Nevada responded with strong batting from players like Haylee Engelbrecht and Maya Larsen. Aaliyah Jenkins set a program home run record with her hit. Pitcher Ainsley Berlingeri stepped in and shut down California Baptist for the win. The second game featured a pitching duel, with Hailey McLean striking out nine batters for Nevada. Lexi O’Gorman hit her first career home run, but Stanford’s offense dominated the sixth inning, pulling away for the win. Despite a seventh-inning rally, Nevada couldn’t overcome the deficit. The Pack will return to Stanford Stadium for one final game in the DeMarini Invitational, facing Stanford at noon.
