The 120-day biennial legislative session in Nevada is set to begin on February 3, with Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo gearing up to work with the Democratic-controlled legislature once again. In anticipation of the session, Purple Politics Nevada host Lucia Starbuck interviewed lawmakers from both sides of the aisle to gain insight into their plans for education, healthcare, housing, and environmental issues.
Season 3 of Purple Politics Nevada kicks off with Sen. Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro’s pledge to continue supporting raises for public school teachers, Sen. Minority Leader Robin Titus’ aim to expand the number of health care providers in rural areas, such as social workers, Assemblymember Erica Roth’s proposal to protect the addresses of reproductive health care providers for their safety, and Senator Dina Neal’s reintroduction of a bill that limits the number of homes corporate landlords can purchase.
