Nevada graduate Joel Bitonio postpones retirement for another year


Joel Bitonio, a Nevada legend and Cleveland Browns player, will return for his 12th NFL season despite battling injuries in recent years. The left guard has had an impressive career with seven Pro Bowl berths and five AP All-Pro honors. He is committed to finishing his career in Cleveland.

Nevada swimmer Scarlett Ferris has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 backstroke, 50 freestyle, and 100 butterfly. She is coming off a successful performance at the Mountain West Championships where she defended her 100 back crown and earned five medals. Ferris will be joined by Wolf Pack divers Bailey Heydra and Lucia Gabino in an attempt to qualify for the national meet.

At the NCAA skiing championships, the Wolf Pack is currently in 13th place after the slalom event. Iver Walday Naess took 12th place while Jeger Halbjoerhus tied for 22nd. Naess narrowly missed out on All-America honors by six-hundredths of a point. The pair will be competing in the giant slalom event on Friday.
