The Nevada Wolf Pack men’s basketball team closed out their frustrating regular season with an 80-61 loss to San Diego State on Saturday night. Despite a slow start offensively, Nick Davidson and Xavier DuSell provided some scoring for the Pack in the first half. DuSell also set a new Mountain West record for made three-pointers in a career. Tyler Rolison led all scorers with 19 points in the second half as Nevada tried to cut into the Aztecs’ lead.
Nevada was unable to secure a victory at Viejas Arena once again, extending their losing streak at the venue since joining the Mountain West Conference in 2013. Their last win there dates back to 1998. Looking ahead, the team will now prepare for the Mountain West tournament in Las Vegas where they will face Fresno State as the No. 7 seed. Despite their struggles in the regular season, the Pack were able to sweep Fresno State earlier this year and will look to do so again in the tournament. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
