Nevada Sports Net will be honoring influential female coaches, athletes, and administrators in Northern Nevada in celebration of Women’s History Month. One of the featured women is Stephanie Rempe, the athletic director at the University of Nevada, Reno. Rempe, one of the 10 female athletic directors in the FBS, has had a lifelong passion for sports, starting from her time as a walk-on volleyball player at Arizona. After earning her master’s degree in sports administration, she worked her way up in athletic administration at various universities before landing the role of athletic director at Nevada in 2022.
Rempe credits her experience working alongside Scott Woodward at LSU, Texas A&M, and Washington for preparing her for the challenges of being an athletic director. She leads the Wolf Pack with a student-athlete mindset and aims to elevate Nevada’s athletic department to a championship level. Colleagues like Casey Stangel praise Rempe for her hard work, dedication, and willingness to take on any role within the department. Rempe will be honored by the Nevada Women’s Fund on International Women’s Day for her contributions to Northern Nevada’s sports community.
As she continues to work towards her goal of excellence in athletics administration, Rempe’s dedication to hard work, discipline, and accountability serves as an inspiration to those around her. Her colleagues believe that she is one of the hardest-working athletic directors in the country and is deserving of the recognition she receives.
