Nevada Hand begins construction on affordable housing project, with a focus on supporting foster youth

Nevada Hand, the largest affordable housing developer in the state, broke ground on the Sunrise Ranch Apartment Complex, a $53M project that will consist of 144 units for low-income families. Up to 60 of the units will specifically cater to youth aging out of the foster care system, providing them with the support and resources they need to live independently. Alisha Barrett, Deputy Director at Clark County Social Services, emphasized the importance of projects like Sunrise Ranch in helping these youth navigate the challenges of transitioning to adulthood. The facility will offer case management and life skill classes to support the youth in their journey. Barrett noted that these young individuals are the leaders of tomorrow, full of vision and excitement. The development is a significant step in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations in the community and is expected to start leasing in late 2026.
