Carson Water Subconservancy District General Manager Edwin James was awarded the 2025 Nevada Water Resources Association Lifetime Achievement Award. The ceremony took place at the NWRA conference on Jan. 29, where candidates who have made significant contributions to Nevada’s water resources were recognized. With a background in soil and water science, civil engineering, and business administration, James has had a successful career in the water industry. From negotiating water rights in Denver to managing groundwater basins in Southern California, James has been a key figure in water resource management.
James has been the general manager of CWSD since 1998 and has served as an NWRA board member from 1999-2023. During his time on the board, he played a crucial role in hiring an executive director, organizing conferences, and workshops, and improving the organization’s financial health. Overall, James’ dedication and expertise have left an indelible mark on the water industry in Nevada.
