Victoria Hayward Is Prepared to Lead Nevada Softball After Setting and Accomplishing Big Goals

Victoria Hayward, the head coach of Nevada’s softball team, has had a remarkable journey that began when she moved from Canada to California as a child. Leaving her home country behind, she quickly immersed herself in playing soccer and later softball, setting ambitious goals that she worked hard to achieve. After being denied admission to Stanford, she became an All-American at Washington and went on to captain Canada’s softball team in the Tokyo Olympics, earning a bronze medal.

Following her playing career, Hayward transitioned into coaching and eventually landed the head coaching position at Nevada. With a focus on setting high goals and pushing herself to achieve them, Hayward aims to lead the Wolf Pack to a Mountain West championship, building on the success she has already achieved in her career. Known for her passion for the game and ability to connect with players, Hayward is determined to leave a positive impact on the program and the athletes she coaches.

Despite facing challenges and setbacks along the way, Hayward’s resilience and determination have propelled her to success in both playing and coaching. She credits her family for instilling in her a spirit of adventure and fearlessness in trying new things. As she embarks on her latest challenge at Nevada, Hayward’s goal is to continue pushing boundaries and striving for excellence, inspiring those around her to do the same.
