Tommy Williams, a standout high school athlete from Incline High School, has signed with the University of Nevada for the 2025 season. Despite playing in Class 2A, Williams’ talents in both football and basketball have not gone unnoticed. He led his team to the state title game in both sports and holds multiple records at his school, including being the all-time leading scorer in basketball and ranking first in career steals in the 2A.
As a quarterback, Williams threw for over 4,000 yards and 53 touchdowns while also rushing for nearly 1,800 yards and 33 scores during his high school career. Williams was discovered by Nevada through a local high school recruiting camp reinstated last season.
Jeff Choate, head coach of Nevada, praised Williams for his winning mentality, infectious personality, and tremendous athletic abilities. Choate believes that Williams has a bright future with the Wolf Pack and describes him as a player with a “big ceiling” at the collegiate level.
Nevada Sports Net recently featured Williams before a game, showcasing his skills and personality. Williams’ signing with Nevada highlights the importance of local recruiting camps in identifying talented athletes like him who may otherwise go unnoticed due to playing in lower-classification schools. Williams’ signing is a testament to his hard work, talent, and dedication to his sports, and he is expected to make a significant impact at the collegiate level.
