The Nevada County Camera Club is gearing up for their annual exhibit and photo challenge “Gold Country on Camera” taking place from February 7-16. The goal of the challenge is to inspire members to be more creative with their photography while capturing the beauty of western Nevada County. Participants will be assigned a specific photo zone in commercial and residential areas to explore and capture unique perspectives. The club encourages members to experiment with new techniques such as using early morning light, creating composites, adding texture layers, and taking multiple exposures.
The resulting exhibit will be held at the Courtyard Suites in Grass Valley from April 5 to 30, with an opening reception on April 5 for the public to view the photographic creations. This event is a unique opportunity for members to showcase their talents and creativity in photography. Mike Oitzman, president of the club, emphasized the importance of integrating various skills and talents into the exhibit, making it a diverse and inspiring display of artistic work. Residents are encouraged to engage with participating photographers during the photo challenge and attend the exhibit to witness the eclectic gallery showing.
