Spanish Springs gana su 12º título regional de lucha libre consecutivo, superando a McQueen por la corona

The Spanish Springs wrestling team claimed victory in the regional championship by defeating McQueen and earning their 12th consecutive title. With a total of 313.5 points, Spanish Springs outperformed their competition, with McQueen earning 275.5 points and Carson coming in third with 189 points. This win marked Spanish Springs’ 15th regional wrestling title in school history and avenged their recent loss to McQueen in the regular season.

At the regional tournament, seven Spanish Springs wrestlers secured individual titles, including Justin Ruiz, Tyden Schultz, Kadrick Lewallen, Abner Lopez, Kolby Benge, Caden Fowler, and Cormac Anderson. McQueen also had a strong showing, with five wrestlers clinching individual titles.

The state championship is set to take place at the Rafter 3C Arena in Fallon, with the top-six finishers from the North regional advancing to state. Elko and Battle Mountain claimed the 3A and 2A regional titles, respectively, while Reed secured the Northern Nevada title for the girls’ division.

Spanish Springs made history this season by setting a state record for consecutive dual-meet wins with 114, and despite a recent loss to McQueen, they bounced back with a strong performance at the regional tournament. Full results from the regional competition, including individual weight class champions, can be found on the event’s website.
