New Mexico Surges Past Utah State; Aggies Suffer Worst Home Defeat in 25 Years


In the latest rankings by Nevada Sports Net columnist Chris Murray, New Mexico claimed the top spot with a record of 18-4, followed closely by Utah State at 19-3. San Diego State sits at 15-5 in third place, with Colorado State at 14-7 in fourth. Boise State holds fifth place with a record of 15-7. Nevada, with a record of 12-10, is in sixth place, followed by UNLV at 11-11. San Jose State and Wyoming hold the ninth and tenth spots, while Fresno State is in eleventh place. Air Force rounds out the rankings in last place with a record of 3-19.

New Mexico impressively defeated Utah State on the road by 19 points, while Utah State struggled with a poor shooting performance. San Diego State narrowly beat Wyoming with a late 20-0 run. Colorado State faces a tough week ahead with matches against New Mexico and San Diego State. Nevada snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating UNLV, positioning themselves to even their MW mark.

UNLV has faced difficulties after early-season success, losing four straight games. San Jose State has been competitive against various MW opponents and faces a tough upcoming schedule. Wyoming’s strong three-point shooting has not translated into wins against the league’s top teams. Fresno State’s struggles continue, with a lone MW win over Air Force. Air Force remains winless in conference play.
