UNLV defeats Nevada Women’s basketball in road game, 68-59

The Nevada women’s basketball team faced a tough loss against the UNLV Rebels on Saturday afternoon, with a final score of 68-59. Despite a strong first half, where they trailed by just one point at the break, the Wolf Pack couldn’t keep up with the Rebels in the second half. Lexie Givens set a program record by playing in her 137th game for the team and was a key player in the game, contributing 13 points. However, Nevada struggled with second-half scoring, shooting just 25 percent from the field and 21 percent from beyond the arc. The team’s strong performance from the free-throw line, shooting 83 percent, helped them stay in the game. In addition to Givens, four other Wolf Pack players scored in double digits. Despite the loss, the team remains determined as they prepare to face the Boise State Broncos on Feb. 5 at Lawlor Events Center. With a record of 9-14 overall and 4-6 in the Mountain West, the Wolf Pack is looking to bounce back and secure a win in their next game.
