Bishop Manogue High School is set to honor its second athletics Hall of Fame class later this month, welcoming a group of 14 esteemed individuals. The class will be celebrated at a dinner and induction ceremony from January 23rd to January 24th, with a special halftime recognition during a basketball game. Among the inductees is Bridget Galvin-Brush, a trailblazer for women’s sports in Northern Nevada. Galvin-Brush, a Manogue alum, overcame the absence of interscholastic sports for girls during her high school days before excelling in volleyball, basketball, and softball at the University of Nevada. She championed the cause for equal opportunities for female athletes and will be honored by the Bishop Manogue Athletic Hall of Fame.
Additionally, the class includes Wayne Luckadoo, known for a historic 96-yard punt during a high school football game, and Jim Arden, a standout player in football, basketball, and track. Other inductees include Jon Armstrong, Emily Dempsey, Jim Digesti, Dave Fleiner, the 1992-1995 girls track teams, Rod Mathisen, Fr. Don Moses, Mike O’Gara, and coaches Pat and Tom Rippee. These individuals left a lasting impact on the Manogue community through their athletic achievements and dedication to their respective sports.
These inductees represent a diverse group of athletes and coaches who have played a significant role in shaping the athletic legacy of Bishop Manogue High School. Their induction into the Hall of Fame serves as a celebration of their accomplishments and contributions to the school’s sports history.
