Nevada casinos ended 2024 on a high note, with the state achieving its fourth consecutive record year for gaming win. In December alone, casinos statewide raked in $1.46 billion, a 2 percent increase from the previous year. This success propelled the total yearly statewide win to $15.6 billion, surpassing the previous year by 0.5 percent.
According to Michael Lawton, a senior economic analyst at the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Nevada has seen all-time records for gaming win for four consecutive years. Not only the state, but also Clark County, Downtown Las Vegas, Mesquite, outlying Clark County, and the Carson Valley set new all-time gaming win amounts in 2024.
Despite the overall success, the Las Vegas Strip did not contribute significantly to the record-setting numbers. Excluding the Strip, the statewide total win still increased by 2.6 percent in 2024. It’s worth noting that the Strip only experienced a 1 percent decrease compared to the previous year. The continued growth in gaming win showcases the resilience and diversity of Nevada’s gaming industry.
