Devan introduces a new innovation in sleep wellness inspired by the global “Beauty Sleep” trend. This technology uses an active ingredient derived from an upcycled by-product of Australian Tea Tree oil, which improves nighttime benefits and skin regeneration for a healthier and revitalized appearance by morning. The microencapsulation technology is applied to textiles like bedding and sleepwear, releasing active ingredients through skin contact and inhalation, leading to improved sleep quality and overall well-being.
A clinical study with 33 subjects showed significant improvements in sleep quality and quality of life after using the treated pillow cover for 30 days. The technology, showcased at Heimtextil 2025 in Frankfurt, will be available on the market by the second quarter of 2025 through partnerships with companies specializing in bed linen and sleepwear.
Marleen Van der Auwera, BU Leader of Health & Wellness Division at Devan Chemicals, emphasizes the importance of collaboration in creating innovative solutions for sleep-promoting textiles. The Devan Sleep Tight technology sets a new benchmark for sleep-enhancing products, providing unparalleled value to manufacturers, retailers, and consumers alike. This new development aligns with modern consumers’ increasing interest in holistic self-care practices.
