Fallon High School wrestler Tommie Fitzer secured a spot in the state wrestling tournament next month after finishing third at the all-girls regional tournament in Reno. Fitzer won four matches in the 130-pound weight class, including two by fall, to advance to the state tournament. Three other Fallon wrestlers competed but fell short of qualifying. In other wrestling news, the boys team will be competing in the Northern 3A regional tournament in Reno this weekend after finishing 7-4 in the dual tournament last weekend. The top four wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the state tournament in Fallon. The team consists of wrestlers in various weight classes, including Braylon Byrd, Manny Barros, Evan Mackuliak, and Trey Bradley. The boys’ team is looking to continue their success in the regional tournament and secure a spot in the state tournament.
