Meekness Dogonyaro, a sophomore athlete from the University of Nevada, Reno, recently won her first Mountain West Field Athlete of the Week award after an impressive performance at the Nevada Invitational/Multis. Dogonyaro set a personal best in the Triple Jump with a jump of 12.97m, which is now the #2 all-time mark in Nevada school history. She is just 2cm away from breaking the school record. Dogonyaro’s success is a promising sign for the upcoming indoor meets and postseason competitions. She will be competing next at the Wolf Pack Classic at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center on February 7-8. As a rising star in the field events, Dogonyaro is on track to potentially break more records in the future. Her dedication and hard work have certainly paid off as she continues to make a name for herself in the world of collegiate track and field.
