After nearly 24 years with the Nevada Wolf Pack, strength and conditioning coach Matt Eck has worked with countless athletes in his tenure. When asked to identify the strongest players he’s ever trained, he named five standout athletes. Among them were football players Virgil Green, Dontay Moch, Matt Hines, and Chris Hines, as well as basketball guard Jalen Harris.
Eck praised Green and Moch as “freak” athletes, highlighting their incredible abilities in the weight room. Matt and Chris Hines, known as the “Dump Truck,” were also commended for their exceptional strength. Jalen Harris was recognized for his natural athleticism and ease in the weight room.
Of the five players mentioned, three went on to play at the professional level, with Green and Moch making it in the NFL and Harris in the NBA. Eck emphasized the unique natural abilities of these athletes and the impact they had on the team.
