A Colorado dentist, James Craig, accused of poisoning his wife Angela with cyanide and tetrahydrozoline in her protein shake now faces additional charges of solicitation to commit murder and perjury. The attorney representing Craig withdrew from the case on the day jury selection was set to begin citing professional conflict and concerns about criminal or fraudulent behavior by the client. It is unclear if Craig has obtained new legal representation. Angela Craig, a mother of six married to James for 23 years, died from poisoning in March 18. Prosecutors revealed that James had searched online for methods to make murder look like a heart attack and whether arsenic is detectable in an autopsy. Their relationship had been strained for years due to James’ multiple affairs, and Angela had expressed a desire to leave him. At the preliminary hearing, James Craig’s lawyers argued that there was no direct evidence linking him to the poisoning and that he had been researching ways to end his own life. The case is ongoing, with James Craig maintaining his not guilty plea to all charges originally brought against him last year.
