Road Closure Alert: South Nevada Avenue to I-25 Impacted This Weekend
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Starting Sunday night, South Nevada Avenue will be closed in both directions between the interstate and Brookside Street, affecting late-night and early-morning commuters. The closure will begin at 9 p.m. on Sunday and is expected to last until 5 a.m. on Monday. Local officials reported that the work aims to facilitate the shifting of barriers and the removal of pavement markings.
To minimize disruption, the closure will be implemented in a staggered manner. Northbound traffic on South Nevada Avenue will be closed first, with that section reopening before the southbound closure takes effect.
Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly and utilize the following detours:
For northbound traffic, drivers should take Brookside Street to South Tejon Street, connecting to the I-25 South Connector Road back to South Nevada Avenue. Meanwhile, southbound drivers can redirect by taking the I-25 North Connector Road to South Tejon Street, then Brookside Street before returning to South Nevada Avenue.
