With Election Day just around the corner, officials from the U.S. Postal Service are urging voters who plan to vote by mail to send their ballots off soon. Nevada voters have already returned over 356,000 ballots, with most accepted by election offices. However, some ballots have been rejected for various reasons, such as being returned undeliverable or missing signatures.
It is crucial for voters to ensure their ballots are filled out correctly and mailed in promptly. Those whose ballots have been rejected still have a chance to have their votes counted by responding to requests to “cure” their signatures by Nov. 12. Voters can track their ballots online and make changes to their registration information if needed.
The Nevada Supreme Court ruled that mail-in ballots arriving up to three days after Election Day without a postmark can still be counted, while those with clear postmarks can be accepted up to four days after Election Day. Republican and Democratic voter turnout in Nevada has been closely monitored, with registered Democrats returning more mail and EASE ballots compared to Republicans.
In Clark County, over 400,000 voters have already cast their ballots, representing 31.1% of the county’s registered voters. Statewide, voter participation is at 32.6% according to state data. It is crucial for voters to act quickly and ensure their ballots are completed correctly to have their voices heard in this crucial election. For any questions or concerns, voters are encouraged to contact the Elections Department directly.
