The Nevada Day Parade took place in downtown Carson City on Saturday, with the theme of “All For Our Country” reflecting a sense of unity. The parade featured 200 entries, including community groups, marching bands, and pageant queens. Organizers made the decision to keep political campaigning out of the event to avoid potential conflicts, with tensions along the parade route having escalated in previous years due to politics. Despite invitations for both Republican and Democratic party officials to share a presence on a “unity” float, the Republicans declined. The return of the hot air balloon launch added to the festive atmosphere of the parade, which is a long-standing Silver State tradition. This year’s celebration was well-received and provided a sense of togetherness for the community. Photos from the event captured by Mary Claire Boucher showcase the colorful and lively nature of the festivities.
