A woman named Amanda Gallagher died after backing into a plane’s propeller while trying to take a picture at an airfield in Kansas. She was critically injured and later passed away at the hospital. Gallagher, who was 37 and from Wichita, was on a flight as an observer to take photos for a skydiving company called Air Capital Drop Zone. She violated safety procedures by moving in front of the wing with her camera raised, causing her to inadvertently step into the spinning propeller. The owner of the company described Gallagher as beautiful both inside and out and said her death had a profound impact on the Drop Zone community. Cook Airfield, where the incident occurred, expressed condolences to Gallagher’s family and friends on Facebook. A GoFundMe was set up to assist with funeral expenses, describing Gallagher as kind, adventurous, and creative, and expressing that she will be greatly missed. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the incident.
