Former President Donald Trump criticized the United States’ border policies during an immigration-focused rally in Tempe, Arizona, calling the country “like a garbage can” for the rest of the world. He made these comments on October 25, 2024, claiming that the US was not adequately managing its borders. Trump’s remarks were part of his ongoing campaign efforts, where he also made false accusations about Vice President Kamala Harris, labeling her as “slow” and having a “low IQ.”
Additionally, Trump called Harris a “s— vice president” during a rally and accused her of lying. He also claimed that Catholics are “treated worse than anybody” and emphasized the need to secure the US border, warning that the country would be “finished” if Harris were elected president. Despite facing some audio issues during a rally in Detroit, Trump continued his campaign efforts in Pennsylvania, where he promoted election fraud conspiracy theories. He also worked at a McDonald’s, jokingly stating that he liked the job.
In contrast, Harris was actively campaigning in critical swing states and noted that it was not “productive” for her to criticize the Biden administration. She attended the Al Smith charity dinner, where she jabbed at Trump for not being present. Meanwhile, Elon Musk came under scrutiny from the Justice Department for his million-dollar giveaway plan, further adding to the political landscape leading up to the elections.
