Rapper Lil Durk was arrested by U.S. Marshalls on a charge of murder for hire and is being held without bail in Broward County, Florida. Five people associated with his hip hop collective, “Only the Family,” were arrested in California for their alleged involvement in a murder for hire that resulted in death. The indictment accuses three OTF members, along with two members of other gangs in Chicago, of being involved in the murder. The indictment alleges that after a physical altercation between two individuals in Atlanta resulting in a fatal shooting, a person associated with OTF offered a bounty for the death of the person believed to be responsible. The five indicted men allegedly traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles with the intent to murder this person, resulting in the death of another individual who was a passenger in the target’s vehicle. The indictment details the use of interstate facilities such as planes and cars with the intent of committing the murder. The five men are facing charges including conspiracy, using interstate facilities to commit murder for hire resulting in death, and possession of firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence. It is not immediately clear if they have retained legal representation.
