The New York Jets have acquired wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a conditional draft pick. Adams will reunite with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, his former teammate from the Green Bay Packers. Adams has not played since September due to a hamstring injury but is expected to boost the Jets’ passing offense, which has been struggling this season. In eight seasons with Rodgers, Adams had a strong connection, totaling 622 receptions for 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns. The trade comes as the Jets look to improve their 2-4 record in the AFC East after firing their head coach in October. The Raiders, also 2-4, have struggled with consistency at quarterback and were looking to trade Adams for a second-round pick before settling on the conditional deal with the Jets. Adams, 31, had a standout season in 2021 with 103 catches for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns. His career stats include 890 receptions for 10,990 yards and 96 touchdowns in 153 games. The trade marks the Jets’ second major move of the season as they aim to turn their season around after losing three consecutive games.
