Israeli strikes in Lebanon have cut off a major road used by thousands of people fleeing the country, according to Lebanese Transport minister Ali Hamieh. The strike caused a large crater near the border with Syria, with the Israeli military accusing Hezbollah of using the border crossing to bring in military equipment. Oil prices remain stable despite the potential for conflict in the Middle East disrupting crude flows. Both Brent and WTI crude futures are on track for strong weekly gains, with Brent crude sitting at $77.54 a barrel and WTI crude at $73.65. President Joe Biden’s mention of possible strikes on Iran’s oil facilities in response to the missile attack contributed to a 5% rally in oil prices.

Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces intercepted rockets launched towards Haifa from Lebanon, with most of them being stopped and the rest falling in open areas. Sirens also sounded in the Upper Galilee area, where some rockets were intercepted and others fell in open areas. The IDF intercepted a hostile aircraft entering Israeli territory from the east. The situation in the region remains tense as conflicts continue to escalate.
