This is how I invested $15 to create Nevada football’s greatest offense of all time

Columnist Chris Murray recently conducted a Wolf Pack football pick’em on social media where fans were asked to pick an all-time skill position group and coach for $15. The most significant positions in football, especially at the college level, are the quarterback and the coach. Chris shared his selection for the team, which includes Coach Chris Ault, quarterback Colin Kaepernick, running back Chance Kretschmer, wide receiver Trevor Insley, and tight end Jarred Gipson.

Ault, who was a master at adapting his offensive scheme to fit his personnel, is a standout coach with the Wolf Pack’s only championship level success in the FBS. Kaepernick, who is widely regarded as Nevada’s best quarterback, holds the distinction of being the only Wolf Pack player to start an NFL game in the Super Bowl era.

Kretschmer, with his one-cut running style, emerged as the chosen running back for the team, while Insley, a record-setting wide receiver, and Gipson, a reliable tight end with strong blocking skills, complete the skill position lineup.

Despite considerations to spend more on other players, Chris felt that Kretschmer’s running style was a perfect fit for the Pistol offensive scheme, making him a valuable addition. With Ault and Kaepernick forming a strong foundation for the team, along with the expertise of Insley and Gipson in their respective positions, the Wolf Pack’s all-time offense is shaping up to be virtually unstoppable.

Overall, the team composition reflects a well-thought-out strategy that prioritizes skill, adaptability, and cohesion, making it a formidable force in the world of college football.
