Carson City Fire Department responded to a 2.5-acre fire at a landfill to the east of Carson City around 2:30 p.m. Smoke was visible on the McClellan Peak Alert Wildfire Camera as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries were reported and no evacuations or road closures were necessary.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and monitoring the situation to ensure it does not spread further. Fire crews are on the scene working to fully extinguish the flames and prevent any potential damage to surrounding areas.
