Three members of the family gospel group The Nelons, Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason Clark, and their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler, were tragically killed in a plane crash in Wyoming while en route to a concert. The crash also claimed the lives of four others, including the pilot. The NTSB is investigating the cause of the incident. Their surviving daughter, Autumn Nelon Streetman, released a statement thanking everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time.
The Nelons have a successful career in gospel music, recording over 35 albums and receiving multiple awards and nominations, including a Grammy nomination and induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2016. They have been an influential group in the Southern Gospel music scene, with hit songs such as “Come Morning” and “We Shall Wear a Robe and Crown.”
The music community, including the GMA, is grieving the loss of the Nelons members and the others involved in the crash. President Jackie Patillo expressed condolences and stated that the Nelons will be forever cherished and remembered in the GMA Hall of Fame. The Nelons’ impact on the gospel music industry and their legacy will continue to be celebrated and honored.
