Top 150 Nevada Wolf Pack athletes: Nos. 120-111 ranked


The University of Nevada is gearing up to celebrate its 150th anniversary on October 12th, and in honor of this milestone, a countdown of the top 150 athletes in Wolf Pack history is being unveiled. This week’s list, featuring athletes ranked from 120 to 111, showcases the diverse talents that have graced the university’s fields and courts over the years.

Among the standout athletes mentioned in this week’s countdown are Victoria Gailey, a golf champion with four individual championships to her name, and DeShone Myles, a football player who holds the record for the most tackles in Nevada football history. Mitchell Van Patten, a rifle competitor, and Joe Inglett, a baseball star and Nevada’s all-time hit king, are also highlighted for their impressive athletic accomplishments.

Other athletes on the list include Jim Bailey, a three-sport standout in football, basketball, and track and field, Susan Eisele Whitehouse, a swimming champion who helped Nevada secure four consecutive Big West titles, and Tom Kalmanir, a talented football player who went on to win the 1951 NFL Championship.

The list also includes Shar Pourdanesh, who overcame adversity fleeing Iran to become an All-American offensive lineman, Candy Oliver Borda, a gymnast and the first female Wolf Pack athlete to receive an athletic scholarship, and Malik Reed, a former football MVP and standout pass-rusher now making waves in the NFL.

These athletes represent the rich history and legacy of sports at the University of Nevada, and their accomplishments will be celebrated as part of the university’s 150th anniversary festivities.
