Changes in Nevada football’s roster from spring camp to fall camp

The Nevada football team has seen significant changes in its roster from the end of spring camp in April to the beginning of fall camp in July. A total of 35 players have left the program, including notable names like RB Cross Patton and WR Dalevon Campbell. However, only 11 of these players have found new Division I schools.

On the flip side, the team has added 32 new players to the roster, with transfers like WR Jaden Smith and RB Savion Red expected to make an impact in the upcoming season. Head coach Jeff Choate has also brought in former Texas players, enhancing the team’s depth and talent.

In addition to transfers, 17 high school players have joined the team, including local additions like P/K Tyler Manship and WR Marcus Bellon. One standout player who committed but is not on the current roster is Oregon State OL transfer Dylan Lopez.

In total, the Nevada football roster now consists of 108 players as they gear up for fall camp and their season opener against SMU on August 24. Despite the significant turnover in the roster, the team seems well-equipped to compete in the upcoming season with the new additions and returning players in place. The changes have been part of a mutual evaluation period for Choate’s first-year staff and the holdover players from the previous coaching era, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
