The College of Southern Nevada’s Northwest campus is moving forward with the allocation of $4.5 million for the planning phase. Vice President of Academic Affairs, James McCoy, revealed tentative plans for a 60,000 square foot law enforcement academy with student support services. The project is dependent on funding from the state legislature, with a goal of having construction documents ready by June 2025.
The campus development may include an emergency vehicle operations course, but this decision is still pending. The cost of construction is still undetermined, with more information expected during state public works presentations in August 2025. The first phase of construction must be shovel-ready by June 2026 to avoid losing the land.
The campus development aims to support students in the northwest area, providing essential facilities and services. These plans are crucial for expanding educational opportunities and infrastructure in the region. The CSN Northwest campus project reflects a commitment to serving the community and enhancing access to higher education. Stay tuned for updates as the project progresses towards completion.
