The University of Nevada’s Reynolds School of Journalism is sending 21 representatives to cover the Paris Olympic Games. Led by RSJ dean Gi Yun, the 10-day trip will provide faculty members and students with hands-on opportunities to report on the world’s biggest sporting event. Students like sophomore Kelsea Frobes are excited to gain international reporting experience and explore unique stories around the Games, such as the lives of the staff working behind the scenes. Senior Jace Ouchida hopes to tell lesser-known stories about the Olympics that may be overlooked by larger news corporations. Longtime professor Dr. Paul Mitchell believes the trip will be invaluable for students as they prepare for their professional careers. Dean Yun is eager to see the students’ excitement and growth throughout the trip. The trip to the Paris Olympics is expected to be a life-changing experience for the students, providing them with valuable reporting skills and unforgettable memories.
