Gizmo, a Chihuahua mix, finally returned home to his family in Las Vegas after being missing for nine years. The dog had escaped from their backyard while playing with other dogs and was picked up by a stranger who took him away. Thanks to his microchip, Gizmo was reunited with his family, who had never given up hope of finding him.
The Monarrez family had searched extensively for the missing dog in 2015, but eventually stopped actively looking for him. However, they never lost hope and occasionally posted about Gizmo in public forums. Finally, on July 18, they received an email informing them that Gizmo had been found at the Animal Emergency Center of Las Vegas and Henderson.
Gizmo was in rough shape, with matted fur, missing teeth, overgrown nails, and a crooked posture. The medical costs for his treatment have been significant, prompting the family to set up a GoFundMe to cover the expenses. Despite his condition, Gizmo was overjoyed to be back with his family, who were equally thrilled to have him home after so many years.
The Monarrez family is grateful for the public’s support in helping Gizmo recover and receive the love and care he deserves. They hope that with continued assistance, Gizmo will be able to fully recover and live a happy and healthy life with his loving family by his side.
